CUSTOMER INCIDENTS

  • Occasionally customers (people shopping in the store) slip and fall because of a spill or recent mopping of the floor. The following are ways we can try to reduce slip and falls.
  • Follow the scope of work and ensure Porter Logs or Lighthouse Reporting are being completed.
  • Respond to requests for spill clean ups.
  • Report hazards found in on site to the Store Manager on shift.
  • Report Spills and Safety & Maintenance Issues using the Lighthouse app
  • Always use Caution Signs (Wet Floor Signs) at the entrances, in the washrooms and where spills have been found, during and after mopping.

Reporting spills via the Lighthouse Spill report is a great way to document the cause of an incident.

Open Lighthouse and login

Click the blue circle on bottom right corner to create a new task

In the top Search bar type Spill Report and choose it from the drop down menu.

Type the area of the store the spill was found

Take a Photo of the spill before it is cleaned

Take a photo of the area once spill is cleaned
